Top-notch facilities are not just important for recruiting the nation’s best and brightest student-athletes, they are also important because we’ve made a commitment to equip our student-athletes with the tools necessary to pursue all of their scholastic and athletic goals.
Naming opportunities exist in our athletic facilities across campus. Our sponsorship/naming opportunities provide donors an avenue to help continue the historic OU Athletics tradition. Examples of current naming opportunities include:
• Facility naming rights
• Team meeting rooms
• Coaches conference rooms
• Head coaches offices
• Assistant coaches offices
• Indoor tennis court
• Rowing (racing and practice boats)

• Headington Hall
• Rowing Practice Facility
• L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Complex Renovations

The primary purpose for privately funding the athletics program at the University of Oklahoma is to provide the necessary funds to send our student-athletes to school. While most of the scholarship funding comes from the annual Sooner Club fund, more and more scholarships are being fully endowed, thus ensuring that this fund will be available for generations to come.
There are many different programs available through the OU Athletics Scholarship Endowment Program, up to and including a fully-endowed $350,000 Foundation Scholarship.
1. The General Athletic Scholarship
The OU Athletics Department will work directly with donors who wish to build an endowed scholarship over a period of years. Scholarships can begin to be awarded, at the discretion of the Athletics Department, once a fund reaches $25,000 and may bear your name, i.e., the Wall Memorial Athletics Scholarship Fund, or the name of anyone you wish to honor or memorialize.
2. The Endowed Sport Scholarship
A $100,000 pledged gift to the University of Oklahoma Foundation fully endows a named sport scholarship. Donors can designate their scholarship for any of the 21 men’s or women’s sports, i.e., the Wall Family Football Scholarship Fund.
3. The Foundational Player Scholarship
For OU’s elite donors, there is a special way to contribute to OU’s athletic programs. The OU Athletics Department is offering donors the opportunity to endow scholarships for all athletics programs. Donors have the opportunity to forever associate their gift with the Oklahoma Athletics Program of their choice.
Donors who make a gift of $350,000 will have a full scholarship permanently named in their honor or as they designate. The earnings from these endowments (approximately $12,500 each year) will be used to fund the athletics scholarship for the student-athlete recipient.
Walk of Champions
The Walk of Champions, located near the reflecting pool directly north of Owen Field, permanently immortalizes each of OU’s national championship teams with granite pavers. The Oklahoma Athletics Department invites you to inscribe your place alongside the greatest teams in Sooner history, prominently displayed outside one of the great cathedrals in intercollegiate athletics.
Each national championship team and season is identified in the center of a section, surrounded by pavers inscribed by Sooner fans, friends and families. You may personalize your paver, identifying and ensuring your and your family’s long-term affiliation with Oklahoma athletics.
